Inspired by a chance conversation with Greenskeeper Adrian Lubowicz, in 2021 HR Director Maja Vitas assembled a staff choir to sing for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Kilkenny's Mount Juliet Estate. Both Maja and Adrian have rich histories in choral singing and conducting.
With only 6 members in 2021, the choir has grown to 17 this year, encompassing members from Poland, Germany, Croatia, Austria, India, the UK and Ireland. They even allowed some Dubs to join !! The members of the Choir have a great enthusiasm for choral singing.
Maja continued as musical director for the 2022 festivities and in 2023 Adrian took the reins.
The choir have performed sacred music in many venues and in May 2024, Adrian led them to first place in the IBEC workplace choir of the year at the Cork Choral Festival.
Accompanying on the piano is Sasha Shvabii, a Ukrainian student from Grennan College in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.
