The Voices of Peace Choir was founded in October 2023. Participants are Children and Young People from the Ukrainian Community in Cork, both those of Ukrainian descent and those who arrived in Cork since 2022.
The choir have performed regularly in Cork City and beyond since it was founded at events such as the Lord Mayors community heritage concert and Christmas concerts as well as many community and civic events.
The choir rehearse weekly in the Cork academy of music. The conductor of Voices Of Peace is Svitlana Deikun. She was born in Mariupol Ukraine and lives in Cork since June 2022. Svitlana is volunteer, songwriter, composer, poet and director of massive events. Svitlana was awarded a letter of gratitude in 2022 personally from the Mayor of Cork in 2022. Also in October 2022 she was invited to become the conductor of the first Ukrainian choir in Ireland "Kalyna".
