Réalta Chamber Choir was established in September 2023 by Claire Grogan in Drogheda. Having grown up in the tradition of upper-voice singing under the direction of Ethna Barror in The Lindsay Singers, Claire loves sharing exciting music written for this vocal range with her choir. Some members have been singing with Claire for over 30 years, and others are more recent friends in music. While still being a relatively new choir, they are enjoying experimenting with different genres and styles, and getting used to their collective vocal colour. They were awarded 1st place in the Sacred Competition in Navan Choral Competition in 2024, having only been singing together for eight months. The choir strives for a pure choral sound and always welcomes interest from new singers with a clear tone who can learn or read challenging music at a quick pace, and work collaboratively and respectfully with others.
