Kammerkoret NOVA (NOVA Chamber Choir) is an ambitious amateur ensemble of around 30 singers based in Oslo, Norway. The choir is led by Julia Selina Blank. Since its founding in 2001, NOVA has established a reputation for giving audiences memorable concert experiences, focusing on homogeneous sound and communicating emotions in the music.

NOVA has participated in and won awards at several, prestigious international competition. In 2023, NOVA won the “Elite” category at the Norwegian National Choral Championships, and placed second in the “Elite Sacred” category, in addition to advancing to the Grand Final of the competition. They received the distinction of “Excellent Performance at an International Level” and won the 2017 Marktoberdorf International Chamber Choir Competition. The choir also received additional prizes for “Best performance of a romantic choral work” and “Best conducting in the competition”.

NOVA has released three albums – NOVA (2009), To Whom We Sing (2011) and Of Light and Dust (2017), all on LAWO Classics – with a fourth album, Human/Nature, to be released in early 2025.

Julia Selina Blank has conducted NOVA since 2019. Together with the choir, she develops creative and innovative concert programmes where new and old music coexist and influence each other.

In addition to NOVA, she regularly works as conductor and chorus master for professional ensembles like The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir, Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks, RIAS Kammerchor, Chorwerk Ruhr and the Swedish Radio Choir, as well as her own JSB Ensemble. She has also wone the World Choral Conducting Competition in Hong Kong (2019) and The London International Choral Conducting Competition (2018). In 2012, she was a finalist in both the Deutscher Chordirigentpreis and the Eric Ericsson Award.
