Cân Aderyn

Wales

Cân Aderyn Singers (CAS), is an eclectic group of ladies, who meet every week for the pure enjoyment of singing together. It all started with 8 ladies in a living room who fancied a sing-song and a giggle. Since then, we’ve grown so much, in size and ambition; we are now 70 strong. Some of our achievements in recent years include singing at the Principality Stadium for the WRU, winning a competition on BBC Radio Wales to appear on the main stage in St David’s Hall, Cardiff with the West End, touring cast of Back to Bacharach, celebrating our 10th anniversary, staging selfproduced concerts with celebrity hosts, and performing for local charities and community groups to enable them to fundraise for their projects. CAS is not just about singing, it’s a fun and supportive community. We always refer to ourselves as a choir family. People often tell us they enjoy our performances because they see we are having a good time and find it uplifting. Many friendships have been formed among choir members, and we support and help each other out in good times and bad. We meet every Wednesday evening and rehearsals are a bit like a sitcom. Someone will tell a funny story or do something ridiculous and we all end up in fits of laughter.
