Hart Male Voice Choir

UK

Hart Male Voice Choir (HMVC) marks its 50th anniversary in 2025 and plans to celebrate by participating in the Cork International Choral Festival and by hosting a Gala Dinner with special guests Choir President Dr Haydn James and Choir Patron Alan Titchmarsh who has compèred Gala Concerts supporting the choir’s Young Singers initiative.

As well as being a conductor, Musical Director Kevin Jacot is an accomplished pianist and fine tenor singer. He has broadcast for the BBC and performed at the London Palladium with Sir Cliff Richard. Kevin works hard to improve the choir’s understanding of musical principles and is passionate about the positive effect of live music on people’s wellbeing.

The choir has 53 members across its top tenor, second tenor, baritone and bass sections. It rehearses weekly and has a wide-ranging repertoire including songs from shows and opera and religious, traditional male voice and folk songs from around the world. Its repertoire includes compositions and arrangements by its Musical Director.

The choir performs a number of concerts annually, frequently in partnership with other choirs, supporting local and national charities and has enjoyed success in local choral festivals, Eisteddfods and the Harmonie Festival in Germany.

Overseas tours include visits to Holland, Spain, Germany, South Africa and Portugal and, closer to home, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

An essential ingredient of the choir’s ethos is sharing their love of singing and fun with each other, with their choir family, wives, girlfriends and partners, and with all their supporters and audiences.
