Voices International

Luxembourg

Voices International (VI) is a vibrant SATB choir based in Luxembourg. Since its founding in 1997, VI has grown into a diverse community of 150 members representing 45 nations. Open to adults from all musical backgrounds, the choir unites singers through their shared love of music and performance. VI presents two concert seasons annually, donating proceeds to children’s charities. The choir has also commissioned original choral works, enriching the global repertoire and advancing its mission to unite audiences through music.

VI’s repertoire spans a remarkable range of styles and languages, including Hindi (Barso Re), Haitian (Fey O), English (Apple Tree), Pakpanese (Cikala le Pong Pong), Zulu (Bonk' abaphandle), Slovenian (Ta na solbici), and Sesotho (Tschela Moya). This diverse programming has made VI a staple of Luxembourg’s musical scene. The choir regularly performs at the Conservatoire and will return this spring to the 1,500-seat Philharmonie, Luxembourg’s premiere venue, where it consistently sells out concerts.

Internationally, VI’s highlights include performing at the United Nations in New York and a 2024 collaboration with Coro Sinfónico Inês de Castro, presenting Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo in Luxembourg and Portugal.

Dr. James Libbey has been VI’s Artistic Director since 2018. With advanced degrees in music and international education, Dr. Libbey brings over 30 years of choral leadership in Luxembourg, Austria, and Canada, alongside guest conducting engagements in Italy, Belgium, and the UK. His engaging leadership and vibrant stage presence make VI performances unforgettable.
