Lend your hearts, hands and voices to the Cork International Choral Festival!
Volunteering with Cork International Choral Festival is an opportunity to be a part of a team of over 200 volunteers, to meet new people and choirs from all over the world and to be part of the action during the Festival week, in venues across Cork city and county.
Since the Festival was founded in 1954, we have always had a loyal chorus of volunteers who play a vital part in the running and organisation of the Festival. Over the years, our volunteers have grown considerably, and many of them return year after year to take part in Choral Festival week. The dedication of festival volunteers is crucial to the smooth running of the Festival each year and contributes so much to the overall success of the event.
Volunteer activities at the festival include:
Help with registration and check-in processes for choirs, conductors, and other participants.
Assist in managing ticket collections and ensuring smooth entry into concert venues.
Assist with event setup and preparation, including venue decorations, signage, and seating arrangements.
Support our visiting choirs throughout the event as a member of our Fáilteoiri Team ('festival welcomers') - availability required from Wednesday to Sunday.
Provide support to choirs and festival staff performances and workshops.
Support the festival's social media efforts by capturing photos and videos of performances, artists, and activities.
Support the festival's marketing by administering the festival experience survey questionnaire to participants and audience members.
Aid in the cleanup and breakdown of venues after each event or performance.
Be a positive ambassador for the festival, promoting its values and mission!
This is a sample job description, and specific activities may vary based on the needs and requirements of the festival.
If you are over 18 and want to register your interest, please fill out the application form below.
An information session will be organised for all volunteers in the weeks leading up to the festival to explain roles and activities.
Recommended deadline for submission of applications: Tuesday, 15th April 2025
(After this date, we may not be able to include you in our volunteer roster.)
